Hello Again!
Way back when I first started this blog, I shared with you my difficulty in keeping regular with my writing! Now you can see, I wasn't kidding!
Here's the thing, I've really missed it- again! In fact it has been gnawing at me a lot lately. So, with a heart felt apology I say- I am sorry, and I vow to begin again, after all, isn't that the best that any of us can do?
Begin again!
I just discovered and caught up with your blog. Great stuff Alison! You should stick with it, you've got a great voice. Your entry on self censorship really hit home for me. I struggled with it for years. You should play around with some short stories (Like Steve the snake, except fiction). Then you can explore the character’s reactions from a safe distance and everything opens up. You can write about anything, like grisly murders or torrid love affairs or winning the lottery…and it all falls under creative freedom. You'll find yourself digging into some pretty deep and untouched parts of yourself, because you don't have to "own" the outcome. No one ever has to know if it's you or your "creativity" speaking. In any case, just remember that writers write, right? Keep on keepin’ on. Wouldn’t Mrs. Emmer be proud of us?
